November 16 – Nashville: Sam & Friends Go to Bat for the Pujols Family Foundation
Nov 06, 2015
On Monday, November 16, Sam band will join forces with Major League Baseball slugger Albert Pujols for a night of entertainment at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center.
“Onstage in the Off-Season,” hosted by Bush, will also feature Emmylou Harris, Alison Krauss, Rodney Crowell, John Oates, Jeff Black and several other special guests. Pujols, who is a three-time MVP, nine- time MLB All-Star and Roberto Clemente Award recipient, will take the stage to talk about the great work of the Pujols Family Foundation, which he founded with his wife, Deidre, in 2005.
“It’s an honor to team up with Albert and this significant foundation,” Bush said. “It’s always exciting when I can play music with friends and musicians I respect, but knowing we’re up there doing what we love for a cause so worthwhile makes it all the more special.”
The Pujols Family Foundation’s mission is twofold: to promote awareness, provide hope and meet tangible needs for children and families who live with Down syndrome, and to improve the standard of living and quality of life for impoverished children in the Dominican Republic through education, medical relief and tangible goods.
“Down syndrome and the people of the Dominican Republic are two things dear to my heart,” Pujols said. “I’m grateful for Sam Bush and all the talented musicians taking time to raise awareness of the mission of the Pujols Family Foundation.”
Tickets and VIP packages for the 8 p.m. event can be purchased through the Schermerhorn here.
